True food security begins with knowledge and practice. Through our Farmers Exchange Program, we bring farmers together for hands-on training in a designated county, creating a vibrant learning environment centered around a prepared model farm.

This model farm is more than just a showcase—it is a living classroom featuring diverse crops and livestock, where farmers experience practical demonstrations of modern techniques in:

• Crop management: Planting seeds and nurturing them into mature crops through hands-on experience.
• Livestock care: Enhancing productivity through sustainable feeding, disease management, and breeding practices.

By learning directly in the field, farmers gain the skills and confidence needed to improve their own farms, ensuring they can produce more food sustainably. The knowledge shared doesn’t just stay in one county—it spreads across Kenya, contributing to a resilient and thriving food system.

We believe that every farm can be a force for environmental good and, as part of our commitment to climate action, we actively encourage farmers to dedicate 10% of their land to planting trees. Planting trees is not just an act of sustainability—it’s a way to alter the ecosystem of entire regions positively.

This simple yet powerful practice combats climate change by:

• Sequestering carbon: Trees absorb carbon dioxide, helping to reduce greenhouse gas levels.
• Restoring ecosystems: Tree planting improves soil health and conserves water in farming.
• Enhancing resilience: Trees break wind, protect crops, and livestock, making farms more resilient to climate extremes.

We are passionate about turning farming into a profitable and sustainable enterprise. One of the most impactful ways we achieve this is through Value Addition Training, where farmers gain skills to transform raw agricultural products into high-value goods.

By practicing value addition:

• Farmers can earn 2-3 times more by selling processed products like flour, jams, or dried fruits instead of raw produce.
• Value addition increases the shelf life of crops, significantly reducing post-harvest losses and ensuring more food reaches the market.
• Processed goods appeal to a broader range of consumers, opening up new markets and creating additional income streams for farmers.

Our Value Addition Training not only boosts individual incomes but also strengthens the entire community by creating job opportunities, reducing waste, and enhancing food security locally. We also host the Sokoni Agri-Business Expo & The Farmers Exchange & Expo, where farmers with value-added products can showcase their offerings to customers who continue to support them.
